Pre-washed Lap Sponge, is also named pre-washed abdominal pad, made of 100% pure cotton high absorbent gauze, sewn with white or blue cotton loop in the laparotomy sponge corner, woven with x-ray detectable threads or barium tape, folded four edges and cross or diagonal stitched with super locked edges to minimize linting and loose threads. It is washed and dried.
Pre-washed laparotomy sponges are used after sterilized by Steam, ETO or Gamma Radiation. They are designed for general wound treatment, especially suitable in primary treatment of dirty, infected and highly exudative wounds, as dressings in minor surgery in the outpatient department and on the ward.
