These high-quality medical devices are made from 100% cotton gauze, ensuring excellent absorbency and softness. Designed to meet the highest standards of surgical care, our lap sponges undergo a meticulous manufacturing process that includes bleaching, drying, processing, cutting, folding, and sewing. They are then pre-washed and packed into sterile pouches, ready for steam, EO, or Gamma sterilization.

Laparotomy Sponge Applications:

Sterile lap sponges are primarily used during surgical operations for absorption of exudations and to control bleeding. They serve as effective dressings in minor surgeries in outpatient departments and wards. The sterile packaging ensures the products remain uncontaminated and provides an aseptic presentation prior to use. Our detectable sterile lap sponges are equipped with X-ray detectable threads woven into the middle of the gauze or X-ray barium tape woven into the gauze corner. This feature enables fast and non-invasive identification of the lap sponge left in the operating field.
